To help you properly clean and care for your smile before bed, our Robert P. Sherman team is happy to provide the following oral hygiene checklist just for you:

-Brush your teeth: Brush your teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Make sure you brush for two minutes and you thoroughly scrub each tooth. Your soft-bristled brush will effectively clean your smile all while taking care of your gums and your fluoride toothpaste will nourish and strengthen your teeth, giving them the ability to prevent major dental issues like tooth decay.

-Floss your smile: Floss between each tooth with a strong and successful flossing tool. As you floss, be careful along the gumline. Being rough while you floss can damage your oral tissues and cause gum irritation, swelling, and bleeding.

-Rinse your mouth: Rinse your mouth with beneficial mouthwash, like antibacterial mouthwash, for the recommended amount of time on the bottle. Rinsing will help you complete the smile-cleaning job, achieve a pristine breath, and kill the bacteria that threaten to attack your teeth and gums.

-Be aware of teeth grinding: Teeth grinding is a destructive habit that can wear down and fracture your teeth. This habit typically occurs at night while you are sleeping, so it’s best to protect your smile with a mouthguard. So, if you tend to grind your teeth, make sure to wear your mouthguard.
